"The surrounding area has a tremendous amount of construction going on which is freeway related. So, the general area all around the hotel is lots of dirt, dust and construction materials for the building of a new freeway or transportation ramp going directly behind the hotel. The hotel itself has construction going on at this time as well, so there is related dust from that as well as closure of stairways. The elevator is extremely slow and is the only method of getting from one floor to the other. There was quite a bit of noise related to the construction as well."

"The spa was gross green and smelled. They had no towels for the pool. I asked for no room service but wanted fresh towels for when we got back late the first morning. When we got back to the hotel, I put kids in the tub and then realized there was no towels. When I called the front desk he had only two towels and wanted someone to go up to the fron desk and pick them up. When I wasn't thrilled to go get them because the kids were in the tub he wanted my 10 year old son to go up to the desk alone to get them. As a parent I found this to be very scary when you ask a young man to go out at 11 p.m. to get towels from someone he doesn't know. I asked the man on duty if something happened to my son if he was replacing him? He just laughed. So, I took my 10 year old with the man suggestion that he would meet him at the back door with the towels and I could watch from the stairs. Well, them man didn't come right to the door when he called and my son was left in the parking lot with many people out there. I left the stairs and followed my son to the front. Later that night it was like there was a stampeed above us after 12 p.m. When I called the front desk for the to call and talk to the people he acted like I was bothering him. I tried to talk to the person on duty about our troubles when I checked out but they didn't seem to care! So, I'm not sure I would ever stay here again. I feel for all the convience they could have offered some money off or a free night stay later. But of course, I got the brush off. I come to San Diego about 4-6 times a year. I have family there and usually stay at Days Inn but thought I would try this one since I was closer to my niece. Cheeper and closer isn't always better. Sincerely, Lisa A.
